The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has rubbished the 24-hour economy policy of former President John Dramani Mahama, saying it would make men not have time and energy to warm the beds of their wives.
Yakubu, who was addressing a gathering in the region, said a 24-hour economy meant that men would work day and night, which according to him, would take them away from their wives.
The minister said, the effect of such a policy was that, men who spent their lives working all the time, would eventually lose their wives to other men.
“My brothers, when we work in our farms, and we are tired, in the night we have to go and sleep with our wives. In the night you want us to also be farming and people will take our wives away?” Yakubu rubbished the policy in a viral video.
Yakubu, who intimated that the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was a better option as far as managing the economy was concerned, urged the gathering to be wary of the proposed policy.
“We have to be careful about this 24-hour thing oo” He teased.
