Music concert ahead of Fao Festival slated for December 22
Bigshots in the Kassena-Nankana music scene have been lined up for the night-long concert to be held at the Navrongo main lorry station.
A musical event ahead of this year’s Fao festival celebration in Navrongo has been scheduled for Friday (22nd December, 2023).

Popular singers including Willy Young delate, Anthony Zungu, Mary Azubam, Nabiin Zono and PareKris, are among the musicians booked for the Obibini Blackman Company limited sponsored musical concert.
Rappers Carlblingx and Kweku Melody, have also been announced to be part of the bill for the night. Promised to be a night of thrilling performances, music executive and dancehall artiste Nelo and his signee Alapta Wan are also in the lineup and are expected to sweep patrons off their feet with some dancehall flavour.
The event has the blessing of the Navrongo Traditional Council.
Fao is celebrated by the Chiefs and People of the Kasem speaking towns in the Upper East Region. As part of this celebrations this year, several activities including drumming and dancing have been held as a way to foster unity among the people.
The climax of Fao will take place on Friday (29th December, 2023), at the COS Park, where the Navro-Pio Pe Asagepaare Balinia Adda II and his chiefs and elders will be in attendance. The climax will be under the theme; “The Contemporary relevance of Fao, a key to the development of the Navrongo Traditional Area”.
