Chef Failatu ends Cook-a-thon to a rousing applause
Chef Failatu ended her marathon at 227:00:02 hrs at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, where she begun the marathon on January 1.
Abdul-Razak Failatu, the woman attempting to break the record for the longest time spent cooking, has ended her marathon after cooking for nearly 10 days.

Local media reported that there was a thunderous applause from the gathering who thronged the hotel in her support over the days.
Having ended her attempt, Chef Failatu and her management are expected to submit details of the event to the Guinness World Records for verification.
During the course of her attempt, Cheif Failatu was cheered on and widely celebrated across the country, receiving massive donations and support from Ghanaians, including a donation of Ghc30,000 from the Vice-president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Chef Failatu prepared traditional Ghanaian meals, blending them favourably with some continental dishes. She dedicated some of the meals to charity, feeding the needy on the streets of Tamale.
Before the commencement of her attempt, she stated in a media engagement that the task was a national assignment on behalf of Ghana and citizens, stressing that, “If I fail, believe me, I have put our president, Ghanaians, people who have supported (and) groomed me, my family, and friends to shame.”
