Bawumia wins 61.43% of votes to become NPP flagbearer
Over 203, 000 delegates participated in the election nationwide, which will take place in 275 polling stations and 16 regional centres.
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has chosen Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as its candidate for presidential elections on 7 December 2024, according to provisional results.
Bawumia obtained 118,210 votes representing 61.43%, beating his main contender Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a Member of Parliament for Assin Central who obtained 71,991 votes representing 37.41%.
Former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie-Akoto garnered 1,459 votes representing 0.76% while Francis Addai-Nimoh polled 781 votes representing 0.41%.
Total rejected ballots recorded were 899.

Ahead of the polls, the four aspiring presidential candidates on Thursday (2 November) signed an undertaking to accept the outcome of the election.
