Daniel Gariba bags re-election in Builsa South; vows to unseat Apaak.
Gariba who counted himself lucky for sailing through the election successfully, said he will build a formidable team to unseat MP clement Apaak in next year’s elections.
The Builsa South District Chief Executive, Daniel Kwame Gariba, has been re-elected as the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate.
It is the second time Gariba is winning the primary election. He won 183 of the total valid vote cast whereas his contender, Adama Thomas Kwesi, took home 135 votes. There was a record of two rejected votes in the election.
Gariba’s win means he will face the incumbent MP Clement Apaak in the 2024 general elections for the parliamentary seat.
Addressing the media after his declaration, Gariba who counted himself lucky for sailing through the election successfully, said he will build a formidable team to unseat MP clement Apaak in next year’s elections.
Gariba said although some internal elections are mostly characterized with hate speech, he was glad that the process in his constituency was peaceful. He thanked the party faithful for conducting themselves peacefully and urged them to maintain the sprit of together to make their fortunes bigger in election 2024.
“Winning an internal election for the second time as a sitting DCE is not an easy task. Due to the nature of my work, people think I have a lot of resources as a DCE and do not want to release them, and this may go against me. I therefore count myself lucky for winning the election the second time, and I thank God and the supporters for the mandate.” Gariba said.
