The Parliamentary candidate submitted his paperwork to the electoral commission on Friday after which he addressed a huge gathering of enthusiastic supporters.
In his address, Dr Anaba touted his qualities and what his candidature would bring to the area if given the nod to represent the people in Parliament.
He said the National Democratic Congress had the best policies for the electorate and therefore urged them to support the return to office of former president John Dramani Mahama.
To the Electoral Commission, Dr Anaba charged it to ensure a free and fair election as attempts to subdue the will of the people could have dire consequences on the peace and security of the country.
He noted that the NDC as a peace-loving political party will also continue to spread its campaign message of hope backed with facts, data and evidence. He, for that reason, urged his supporters to carry out their campaign devoid of mudslinging and hate speech.
Dr Thomas Anaba, an astute Medical Doctor, makes his first shot in an effort to represent the people of Garu in parliament after a massive victory during the party constituency primaries. He said his win would be for improved health, education and a good representation for the people, among others.
Notable party bigshots who graced his filing included Pastor Luke Abugre, constituency chairman of the council of elders of the NDC and constituency executives of the party.
