Guinness World Records responds to Chef Failatu’s cook-a-thin attempt

Guinness World Records (GWR) have reacted to the record-breaking attempt by Ghanaian Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak who embarked on a marathon to become the holder of the record the longest time spent cooking.
This comes after an official X account, Olele Salvador posted a video that announced the end of Faila’s cook-a-thon.
The GWR in a tweet on Wednesday, January 10 said “We look forward to reviewing her evidence”!
Chef Faila embarked on a 10-day cook-a-thon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale from January 1, 2024, in an attempt to break the current 119-hour record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher with support from her assistant, Chef Malik Eric.
Failatu showcased her exceptional cooking skills by preparing variety of Ghanaian and international dishes amid a rich display of culture by the people of Northern Ghana.
Determined to break the official record, Chef Faila ended her cook-a-thon at an astounding 227 hours:00mins:02 seconds after an unwavering display of resilience amid huge support from celebrities and dignitaries including Vice-President Bawumia who donated ghc 30, 000 to support her.
Chef Failatu ended her attempt to a loud applause from the gathering of supporters. Local media reported that she broke down in tears as she could not believe her astounding achievement after her team announced the end of her cook-a-thon.
Her record-breaking attempt gained global attention and was filled with unforgettable memories as many await the official confirmation for the Guinness World Record.
