Navrongo: MCE commends Mike FM for its wide coverage, pledges support
The MCE recognized the impact Mike FM has already made even though it was yet to zoom into full operations and expressed hope that the outlet will live up to the high expectations of its listeners.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Kassena-Nankana Municipality, Joseph Adongo has applauded newly opened radio station Mike FM for extending its airwaves to most corners of the Upper East Region.
The MCE recognized the impact Mike FM has already made even though it was yet to zoom into full operations and expressed hope that the outlet will live up to the high expectations of its listeners.
“Somebody was telling me that the Mike FM goes very far, it goes very far, and I want to say that I’ve also listened, I’ve heard, and we will hope that Mike FM will live up expectations,” he stated, adding, “Mike FM will be the FM that we all look up to”.
“Whatever government will do to make sure that this station stays engrossed, we will continue to do. We will continue to provide the operating space, continue to provide you a congenial atmosphere for you to operate,” he declared.
Adongo noted that the Municipality is a cosmopolitan area and urged managers of the station to cater to the needs of its diverse audience in its programming.
“We shouldn’t be tempted that we are closer to a tertiary institution then we are tempted to believe that our listeners are literate.” He continued, “take into consideration the various languages that are found in the municipality”.
He also commended the CEO of the station for such prudent investment and assured of the government’s commitment to supporting it and providing the conducive environment for its running.
The MCE urged the outlet to focus on community development and stay impartial.

According to its General Manager, Castro Senyalah, the outlet has assembled a talented team of staff, who passionate about serving them out of the ordinary content.
Delivering his keynote speech at the launch of the radio station, the MCE attested to the credibility of Mike FM and its impartiality and urged it to stay on course.
“We know that a lot of people will bring mischief for you, but from the time of tests that we have heard and what we have heard behind the background, we know it’s a credible station that will not fall to some of these things.”
