Police Commander found dead in hotel room

According to media reports, the officer was discovered dead on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in a hotel room in Hohoe.

The Deputy Volta North Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Antiri Nicolas Aletso, has been found dead in a hotel room.

Concerned relatives of the late Police Chief had attempted to contact him numerous times without success, prompting them to report their fears to the Regional Police Command.

In response, a team led by ASP Simon Yevu, the staff officer, proceeded to room number 4 at the Obama Hotel, where ACP Aletso was lodged. Upon entry, investigators found him lying in a lateral position. Notably, the door to the room was unlocked.

Efforts were made to transport him swiftly to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital, where his unfortunate demise was confirmed. Subsequently, his remains have been transferred to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra, awaiting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
