Police search for individuals who attacked Coach Maxwell Konadu
Konadu, who was reportedly beaten to a pulp according to reports, has been admitted to a hospital where he is being treated for a head injury.
The Ghana Police Service has stated it is on a manhunt for two individuals who reportedly attacked Maxwell Konadu, the coach of Nsoatreman FC, after a match against Bofoakwa Tano in Sunyani on Sunday (19 November), ended goalless draw.
Konadu, who was reportedly beaten to a pulp according to reports, has been admitted to a hospital where he is being treated for a head injury.
The Police statement said, “The police are on a manhunt for two persons who attacked the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu, during a football game yesterday, 19th November 2023, at the Sunyani Coronation Park,”
The statement continued that, “We will surely get the suspects arrested to face justice,”
The attack on the football coach has received widespread condemnation from the Ghanaian football community. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) which has also strongly condemned the attack, has imposed a home ban on Bofoakwa Tano with immediate effect.
Football club, Bofoakwa Tano has also released a statement strongly condemning the incident.
