Speaking on Mike FM’s Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday December 9th, 2024, Aworigo said he understands how important the completion of the stadium was to the people of the area, hence his decision to make it one of his key priority projects.
The MP-elect for Navrongo Central, Simon Akabange Aworigo has indicated he will get the Navrongo Youth Resource Center widely known as the Navrongo Sports Stadium fixed before the end of his first term as Member of Parliament.
Speaking on Mike FM’s Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday December 9th, 2024, Aworigo said he understands how important the completion of the stadium was to the people of the area, hence his decision to make it one of his key priority projects.
He said that even though he was not in the best position to give timelines for when it will be fixed, he was sure to get it completed before his first term ends. He acknowledged the enormous contribution its completion would add to the development of sports in the constituency.
The Youth Resource Centre, which was started in 2018 by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was envisioned to be a hub for nurturing young talents, promoting social development, and creating opportunities for the Youth of the Constituency. But after many years, the key project has yet to be completed despite several appeals from the Chiefs & people of the area.
Touching on his landslide victory, the yet-to-be sworn in law maker intimated that he and his party see it as a huge responsibility that the people have placed on them and would be guided by it and focused on shaping up the development of the constituency.
“It means the people of Navrongo have spoken, and Ghanaians have spoken, they have said that they want to depart from the current status quo, and they want something new, they want something different. We told them we will give them a new hope. We will begin to walk that talk”
Commenting on his intentions for the constituency, Aworigo said he will prioritise jobs creation, rural electrification, agriculture, modernization of the Navrongo market, provision of potable drinking water and the improvement of road infrastructure to open up the constituency.
