Vote Bawumia and Otito Achuliwor for development – Anthony Mensah
Speaking when he took a seat in the studio of Mike FM on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, Mensah touted the achievements of the NPP government, describing it as the “best managers of the economy”.
Anthony Mensah, the immediate past Navrongo central constituency chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, has urged voters in the constituency to give Alhaji Abdallah Otito Achuliwor their nod at the December 7 polls, to represent them in Parliament.
The former party executive has also appealed to the constituents to throw their support behind the party’s Presidential flagbearer, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, adding that the two would make an ideal pair in government.
Speaking when he took a seat in the studio of Mike 105.3 FM on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, Mensah said the sterling achievements of the NPP government in its eight years governance, showed that they are the “best managers of the economy” and deserved continuity.
“Forget the NDC because they are known to be liars. They always claim ownership of everything that the NPP has brought. We [the NPP] have managed the economy better than them. Our party has invested in infrastructure development than the NDC has ever done in this country and they know it won’t accept the fact.”
On the upcoming crucial election, Mensah expressed confidence in the NPP winning by a huge gap. He maintained that a vote for continuity of the NPP government will be a vote for continued development to bring transformation in the lives of Ghanaians.
“The people of Navrongo should not make that mistake by voting for Aworigo [Simon Aworigo] because he is a pretender. He is pretending to be who he is not and will not be able to help the people when voted for. But Alhaji Otito, is a humble and fine gentleman who was born and has lived in the constituency, built his house here and knows our challenges.”
When asked about the alleged rocky state of the NPP front in the constituency, Mensah vehemently denied the existence of cracks. He stated that all was well in the NPP camp and all the party stalwarts in the constituency were in fact involved in the campaign activities.
Mensah, who is a fierce critic of the NDC and its parliamentary candidate, rather accused the NDC of having a rocky front in the constituency, adding that there was tension between key members of the party including the incumbent Member of Parliament, Sampson Tangombu Chiragia.
He called for a free and peaceful electoral process on December 7, stating peace was a bedrock for increased development.
