You have my support – Navrongo MCE assures Otito Achuliwor
Adongo commended the rank and file of the party in the constituency for a peaceful election devoid of hate speech and mudslinging.
Joseph Adongo, the chief executive of the Kassena- Nankana municipality, has pledged his unflinching support for Abdallah Otito Achuliwor who emerged winner in the parliamentary primary election today, (2nd December).
Achuliwor, who attempted the election for the third time, scored 375 votes to beat Adongo, who earned 238 votes, and three other contenders in keen contest.
Speaking after the declaration of results, Adongo commended the rank and file of the party in the constituency for a peaceful election devoid of hate speech and mudslinging.
“This campaign that we just went through, there has not been acrimony. And I am happy that today, we are gathered here to back the duly elected Parliamentary candidate,”
“Going into the 2024 elections, I hope and pray that all of us with our differences will say no to factions such as Adongo team, Raymond Team or whatever. I think it should now be NPP team,” – Adongo appealed.
Adongo, who intimated that the selection of a candidate was just the beginning of the actual job, urged the party faithful to work even harder to help push Achuliwor to victory in the 2024 parliamentary election. He said the collective goal of the NPP in the constituency was to take back the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Taking turns, the three other candidates; Perry Adamba, Raymond Ayilu and Abasang Gregory spoke on the need to work collectively to win the seat for the NPP. They all urged the party supporters to eschew actions that could throw the party into disunity.
They noted that the defeat the party suffered in election 2020 should serve as a learning curve for improvement. The three also pledged to work closely with Achuliwor to brighten his fortunes.
